Grassroots Family Support Service
The Covid-19 pandemic has put many grassroots families in Hong Kong in dire straits. In view of this, our Fund is in partnership with Sowers Action to provide support to underprivileged children and families affected through the volunteer team’s work while implementing the programmes. It is estimated that 370 families (about 1,500 people) will benefit.
1. Food and Nutrition Support for Grassroots Children and Youth
·To provide nutritious food for children;
·To share nutrition information with the families;
·To reach out with love and care for the families through volunteer training and visiting
2. Living Environment Improvement Plan
To improve the living environment of the grassroots families with subsidizing home appliances and furniture.
3. Distribution of Lucky Bags in Chinese New Year
Send lucky bags to the grassroots families, extending love and support.
Capacity Building Support for the Staff of “Children’s Home”
With the aim of enhancing staff skills to better serve children in need, our Fund supported two “Children’s Homes” in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province to provide staff training and capacity building programmes from June to August 2021.
